They are more trebly than the EV 15's Mesa used in the 90's. The magnet and frame are smaller. I just put one in my 1x15 RR cab and, dearly miss the EVM. I need to get it fixed. It's personal preference though. I prefer EV over Eminence.

Nevermind, problem solved.

I need to replace the 33mh inductor coil on the graphic EQ of my D-180. It is the old stlye, covered in epoxy. Anyone know where I can find a replacement, or what the ohm value is so I can temporarily replace it with a resistor to complete the circuit.

Are your cabs 8 ohms each or 4 ohms each.

I own Fathom # 182. My local Mesa dealer got it in back in April.

All I use is the Road Ready cabs. I love them!! I use either 2 4x10's or a 4x10 and a 1x15. I also just ordered a 2x12 cab today.

Your bass might be the cause of it. My mainstay is a Rickenbacker 4001, and it gives out a nice single coil buzz that sounds like a bad ground due to the lack of shielding and a solid ground. All of my other basses that have shileding in the control cavity, or active pickups are quiet as a mouse.

Try using the mid shift, by pulling out the treble knob. It will help curve the over sparkly highs and the shift in mid frequency will keep your low end from getting too muddy.

New, I believe they go for a little over $1000. There are deals out there though. I paid $375 for a used one.

In my 400 bass head, not a 400+, one of the tubes stopped working. I bought the amp 5 months ago and swapped the JJ Tesla power tubes that were in it with new Mesa tubes. For pure tone, I'd go with the 400+. I used Ampeg exclusivley, until I tried out a Mesa 400, and I've never looked back. You'll also get more power to push more air from the 400.
