A little help for my Rev. F dual rec

Thanks for the advice YellowJacket. It was a bit out of the way, but I decided to go ahead and get a full checkup. I just hope any new components don't change the sound (I honestly have no idea how it works, I just know what each component "does"). I'll post when I get it back with an update.

A little help for my Rev. F dual rec

I haven't posted in a while, but it seems I have bad luck with my rectos :( I was recently playing my '93 Rev. F dual rec, when a power surge managed to cause a loud popping noise, making the tubes flash, and blew a fuse. First I replaced the fuse, then replaced the power tubes 2 at a time...

What cabinet/s do you guys use with your 2 channel Recto???

I love my 1960A. In my opinion, G12T-75's and V-30's both sound amazing with rectifiers. It's all about the sound you want to get. My only suggestion is to test out the cabinets before you go out and buy one. I would highly recommend the 1960 cabinets though. As much as I love my Marshall cab...

    Beautiful looking amp!

Yea I remember seeing it on eBay not too long ago. I don't think it's too overpriced, I mean it is custom shop and absolute mint at that. But yea, that's the same amp. The eBay seller name is the same as the forum name

    Old Recto Loop Question

I used to have a 12/92 - 1/93 dual recto, and now I have a mid-'93 dual recto. I believe you're simply referring to the serial loops that revisions C-F have (and a few revision G's). From my experience, using the loop sucks a lot of tone regardless of what you do. I absolutely refuse to use the...

What style do you use your Rectifier for?

I play mostly post-hardcore chaotic screamo stuff, like The Devil Wears Prada or Underoath. I do tend to tune a few steps down and play some metal every now and then though, like Black Dahlia Murder or As Blood Runs Black. I use JJ KT-77's and high-gain 12AX7's with GZ-34 rectifier tubes from...

Favorite guitar / pickup combo for Rectifier?

Before I got my first dual rec, I used to love my Invaders; I actually put them in 2 guitars, bridge and neck. Once I got my boogie though, I felt like I wasn't getting the tone I should have been. The overall sound was very muddy, and note articulation was terrible. Then I got my ESP H-1001...

    Can some just check...

4 ohms is actually stronger than 8 ohms. I run 100 watts at 4 ohms, so you would probably want to run 50 watts at 8 ohms.

The switch looks like it's on mono to me :?:

SOLD!!! Chrome Faced Dual Rectifier head, super cheap!!!!!

I'll clear some questions  The preamp tubes are all Mesa SPAX7's purchased in January '08, and played frequently (no less than half an hour a day; some days up to 14 hours). The first tech I took the amp to removed the rubber around one of the tubes for some reason, but that won't...

A very unique Revision G for you...

Just throwing this out there... On my newly acquired rev F dual rec, the "Clean Rhythm" phrase has a set of parentheses under it. It is obvious that the phrase "Channel Volume 7-10" was once inside the parentheses, but it looks like it's been scraped off, however NONE of any of the other...

Roadster vs 2ch Dual.... live gigging and versitility.

If that's the case, then get the Roadster. I prefer my 2 channel DR because I play mostly in one general genre, and I want my sound to be absolutely perfect. If I want to play something clean, I usually go grab my acoustic.

Dual Rec (2 Channel) New Tubes, Cover, Mint - $1,150 Shipped

$1100 shipped is a really good deal for all of that. I probably would have bought it if you had posted it a few weeks earlier. But most people in the market for a dual rec on this forum are probably looking for revisions C-F. What you've got there is a good ole' revision G. But don't give up, I...

    2x12 cab question

If the cab is factory, then it should be able to handle up to 120 watts, according to Mesa's website.
