    MARK V!

Let's go ahead and call it the lonestar then. I say make all three channels Mark.

    MARK V!

Let me clarify. The R2 channel on the III is based on a plexie. It's soppose to get you dirty rock n roll tones, but IMHO, rolling back the lead drive or the volume knob on the guitar in the lead channel does a much better job. Which is why I say make the 2nd channel a Mark IIC+.

    MARK V!

If the contour knob is with the GEQ, that would be sweet. If no GEQ, that would suck so much. I also hope they keep simual class. And why does everyone want progressive linkage? That would make the amp really expensive. Also I would like the 3rd channel to be original. A mark V trademark...

    MARK V!

what do you mean you can't remember? :P Intresting rumour about the contour though. Contour is generally a mid slice paramater. Makes me wonder if they are mixing a Mark with a rectifire.

Mark IV Owners: V30s vs. C90s?

FYI, the governers are V30s replicas. The sound of the patriots and red coats will vary depending on speaker, but something I have known, the best speakers for the mark amps by eminence is the man o wars. They are american made as well compared to the china celestions. Contruction is top...

Mark IV Owners: V30s vs. C90s?

I have a 3/4 back 1x12 loaded with a C-90. I love it so much, I'm getting another matching cab. The speaker is thick and smooth. That's the only I can describe it.

    Mesa Deserves More!!!!

No one is saying that the Marshall has more gain. This is about impact on the industry as a whole. Back in the 70's and 80's, how sterotypical was it to see a wall of marshalls? Or some sort of Marshall? Super leads, JCM 800, Plexi etc. Those amps ruled the 70's to 80's as far as influence in...

    Mesa Deserves More!!!!

70's and 80's, Marshall played the lead role in overdrive(and back then, it was considered they high gain sound). The defined rock n Roll and heavy metal of that era. Now if you want to bring in the 90's, by far and wide, Mesa/Boogie.

    Mark V Expectations?!?!

When Randall S. says simpler control layout, I guess I will take that as a good thing. I hope they go back to the more agressive Mark III gain structure plus some more.

My Mark III sounds like it's possessed!

Swap some preamp tubes around, and or get a power conditioner as it could also be AC related.

Mark IV sounded good till retube...

JJ's sound sick in my Mark III. Miles upon miles better then the Sovteks I had. JJ's mad emy amp sound darker and punchier which I really like.

Concerning about the future of Mark Series

I wish they would make a Mark V. A modern high gain amp that can run with 5150's and rectos, but with that triditional tight and bright sounding tone you expect from a Mark. A 3 channel amp with R1 being Makr I clean, L1 being Mark IIc+ lead, and L2 being something beyond with similar voicing...

    thin sound

I agree! The tone of my mark III changes time to time and I strongly think it's the power from the wall. Need to get a power conditioner.

Can you use two amp modals at the same time?
