I wanted to cut down on the weight of my Express 5:50 plus combo amp. I installed a new Celestion Neo creamback speaker, which is only 60 watts. I never dime my knobs, but I do sometimes push the volume and tone controls up to 60% at times. Wondering if my 60w speaker will be o.k. in this 50w amp.

Does anyone know which preamp tube drives the burn channel? Clean channel is fine, but on the burn channel there is lots of static and noise. Even with no guitar plug in, and gain turned down.

In one of my amps (Mesa Express 5:50 head), the plate voltage for each 6L6GC tube is quite different, using a Weber Bias Rite. Tube A: 520V, 49mA Tube B: 420V, 40mA Same tubes in my Mesa Express 5:50 combo: Tube A: 470V, 44mA Tube B: 465V, 44mA So, while the combo amp shows a good match...

Last night I connected my Weber BiasRite meter to check the Mesa labeled power tubes in my Mesa 5:50 Express. They were reading 79mA (total) and plate voltage was 470. Isn't that really hot for a 6L6 Pair?
