Clicking Sound left Side of Head When Powering Off

Sounds like relays turning off. I've heard people mention the same thing about their Mark V's, on here over the years. It's normal. The turning indicator in your car is a relay going on and off. That's what makes the click sound.

Why can't I see posts or responses by APEMAN?

Nah dude it's still there. Apeman deleted his posts, which included the title, but no one but mods can delete threads. I'll link it: http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=73352

Help! Mesa Boogie Mark Five:35 High Gain/Volume Squealing

Try the saturation mod. 12AT7 in V4 and V6, that's in the 90 watt version. Not sure what that translates as in the 35 watt version. It lets you dial in more gain. All credit to Apeman for discovering it.

Do you boost your Mark V?

Not so much a boost, but I've had great results running a fuzz into channel 1. Channel 2, Mark 1 mode is crying out for an overdrive. It's so bass heavy. Introducing some highs and mids could yield some interesting tones.

Amp turning off and on again quickly

Hopefully it's just the tubes. It wasn't in my case. Here's a link to my thread: https://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=84989 Let us know how you get on.

Kind of mixed up with saturation mod....

A quoted response from the man himself: APEMAN wrote: Hey there, over the past days I was able to deepen my tests with 12AT7 in V4 vs V6. Here are my thoughts about it: In V6 (with IV mode engaged) it is the pure and cleaned IV mode - just without the ice pick (the overall effect is more...

Mark V intermittent power and lights loss

The same thing happened to my amp. Here's my thread on it: https://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=84989 If you have a good tech in your area, bring it to them. They can get the tech info for the repair from Mesa. It's a quick fix. A few diodes in the LV power supply need to be...

Could it be that the part you bypassed, might have been faulty when your bought your amp?

    Equalize

Page 17 of this thread has more advice on using an eq in the loop. It refers again to Metallica's tone: https://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=37145&hilit=Flemming+Rasmussen&start=240

    Equalize

I believe this was talked about in a thread talking about Metallica's tone. They used an eq in the loop of their Mark 2 C+'s.

Amp turning off and on again quickly

I was going to send my amp back to my nearest mesa distributor. There's none in my country, I'd have to send it abroad (not the USA) to be repaired. It turned out that the Mesa distributor would lease the repair work out to a third party. Some local dude near the distributor in other words. My...

Amp turning off and on again quickly

The same thing happened to my amp. The diodes in the LV power supply needed to be replaced. It seems like a common fault with the Mark V

    Finally happy with my V

I had the same problem, until I turned the mids all the way up on the channel, and dialed it back with the graphic eq. It's probably not everyone's cup of tea, but as a metal player, it works for me.
