    Channel 1 volume, gain issues

I was thinking about the power tubes, wouldn't hurt to swap out inner pair with outer pair, if anything to see if that changes anything. As for the V1 and V7 tubes, I'll see what happens. Thanks all so far!

All channels are running in 45 watt mode. Channel 1 and 2 in diode mode and channel 3 in Pentode.

    Channel 1 volume, gain issues

Fr0sty, yes, I'm running in 45 watt. However, I never had the issue with the volume drop and gain before in 45 watt mode??

    Channel 1 volume, gain issues

I've noticed on my Mark V head that I have less volume on channel 1. Normally I have all my channel volumes about 9 to 10 o'clock ish, about quarter of a way up. Channel 1 used to be very loud at 9 o'clock, that I had to turn it down lower than channels 2 and 3. Now I need to keep my channel 1...

    Mark V 45 watts or 90 watts

APEMAN, so you're saying that by running 45 watts, it's best for the tubes to run my 8 ohm cab into the 4ohm connector on the amp head? Thanks for the heads up. I may have missed this in the manual. JB52, we're way out in the country, so no other homes to bother within a quarter mile or more...

    Mark V 45 watts or 90 watts

Just curious as to what you guys that gig with the Mark V. I have the head version with a recto 2x12 horizontal cab. Normally during rehearsal or small to mid sized clubs, esp with the amp being mic'd, I use 45 watts. We're gonna do a performance outside in a large yard-field setting. I'm...

Effects loop issue with Mark V SQUEALING

I checked out the page, thanks for the link. They look like good cables.

Effects loop issue with Mark V SQUEALING

Well, I've finally found the issue, and it was with the cord that goes from the amp return to the Pod500. It needs to be bent a certain way and then the amp will start squealing with the loop engaged. Just glad it wasn't a major issue with the Mark V head or the Pod itself. Don't need the hassle...

Effects loop issue with Mark V SQUEALING

Everyone, thanks for the ideas so far... Got the amp back home, I will try to detect for any microphonic tubes. OldTelecasterMan: Which cord was it, out of the 4, if I'm assuming correctly that you were/are running 4 cable method? ATR1: Thanks for the ideas. My head/effects unit acted up...

Effects loop issue with Mark V SQUEALING

I know that I started this thread a while back ago, but just wanted to give a quick update. As I've posted above, I've had random intermittent issues every once in a blue moon with squealing on my Mark V head when activating the effects loop that would come and go. This past weekend, I think...

Mark V with Marshall JCM 900 Cab Question

    Got it, thanks everyone!

Mark V with Marshall JCM 900 Cab Question

For you folks that run the Mark V head into a single JCM 4X12 cab, which input are you plugging into in the back of the 900, and where's the switch set to? I've been using my mesa 2x12 recto cab, but now that I'm playing in a second band, I have an option to use the JCM cab at the other place...

Effects loop issue with Mark V SQUEALING

OldTelecasterMan, so that happened just once, or more than that?

Effects loop issue with Mark V SQUEALING

Elvis, that's interesting. I need to more closely monitor what is getting hooked up and where! I suspect, but may be wrong, that if the effects unit works normally most times and some times it doesn't, without me changing ANY settings, it could be a loop problem! Oh well, will see this...
