what is the serial number on your mark v

My head's 6164 serial number is close to Zlofengir's, although interesting that my build date of 6/21/11 is later than his and my number over 100 lower.

Anyone playing through a 1x12 cab?

I have a wide body half-open 1x12 with an MC90, which I closed up with a removable panel that I made. I like the tighter sound of it closed, whether with my Mark V head or Mark IIB driving it. It really rocks, and is a great pretty light rig when I don't want to drag a bigger cab to a smaller...

How does your Mark V sound during live performances?

My Mark V sounds better at stage volume; just a lot of punch and tone. Also, the versatility is particularly great onstage. Like most amps, sounds better when you leave the practice volumes. I'd like to A/B it onstage vs. my 1977 JMP Marshall, I'm sure there would be some interesting...

Nice work. I still love my Mark IIB bought new way back when. Yours sounds a lot like mine.

Anyone Try a Celestion Gold with your Mark V?

I am loving my Celestion G12H Anniversary (gold) speaker. Before I bought it, I checked some of the youtube comparisons and am very happy with how it turned out. I like it better than my C90, G12T-75s and vintage 30s.

Mesa Boogie Mark V and Telecaster sound awful?

I second Masque's comments, as I too have a Am Std Dlx Tele, and it sounds killer through my Mark V. The pickups might be a touch stronger than most Teles, but it's quite beefy. For one, if you are a guy who runs the tone wide open on your guitar, I would roll it back until the crispiness is...

Help Me With My Mark IIB - Tone is Not What It Used To Be

I am the original owner of a Mark IIB combo. It's been great, but really getting mushy and muddy on the low end if on high gain. It's also getting boxy/cardboardy sounding. A few facts: - Had it serviced about two years ago (first time ever, so reliable!); swept out, replaced bad power cord...

    Post your rig part 2

My updated Boogies below. I added an open back widebody 1x12, and think I'll pair that with the Mark V head for my Halloween gig.

    Which Mesa 4x12?

guitarp77, You won't regret trading your Marshall for a Rectifier 4x12 unless your Marshall is a 60s or 70s model (one of the ones that were really well built). The lows and lower mids are much punchier on the Mesas.

    NCD (New Cabinet Day)

Thanks. I can't seem to run out of tonal options with the Mark V. I have had it over six months and feel I'm not even half-way on where I can go with it.

    Mark IIB

Nice original rig. I have a Mark IIB that I bought new as well, but 60W and no reverb. My buddy ordered cream tolex, I have a black one. Where did those years go? Yours is loaded including the upgraded speakers. I would price the set around $2,000, maybe $2,250, but glad to hear you're...
