Could I have the link too please? Thanks!

How many using mini amp gizmo?

I have no idea how many, but I do ;) I use mine with a custom 3' cable with my G-system brain on top of the amp with the pedals - er.. like this:

    Anyone miss their IV???

Not at all. For my needs, in terms of crunch and clean tones, I'd need 3 Mark IV's to get close to what I do out of the Mark V - and I'd be using the IV's lead channels to get my clean and rhythm tones. I like the Extreme mode on the V's lead channel better too.

Mark V vs The Egnater MOD 50!! Your thoughts?

Hmmm.. module based amps: Cruise MQ4 and the Seymour Duncan Convertible. Maybe the Egnator will be different.

Mark V and the TC Electronic G-Major.

Ya, the G's many levels can be a real bear. You may have heard about it - but if not, there's this "Whitepaper" out there that describes the levels in minute detail: http://www.guitaraffair.com/g-system-support.php Here's my simpler, quickie approach: 1) work with a volume pedal - and step on...

Mark V With TC G-System Limited Any Good?

WHOAH _ just a quick follow up - my last post prompted me to re-experiment with my G-System/Mark V rig - and now, somehow, my relay issues have cleared up. I can only imagine that somehow the contacts in my cabling weren't quite right. Now that I don't need an Amp Gizmo, I'm VERY happy with...

How are the cleans with EL34s?

I'm pretty sure that Mark V manual has ever said that. I just confirmed it from my s/n #67 paper manual and theother downloads that I have. IIRC, it was people phoning in to boogie asking about it and being told that it was ok by a lone boogie tech and then posting it back here on grailtone...

Mark V and TC Electronic G system

I'm switching all 3 channels with my G, but I leave my EQ on with contour all the time. That shouldn't be a problem though. I do have a problem with the relays though - they're pretty slow. Also, it seems that when I switch from crunch to lead, the clean LED blinks for an instant. There's...

    Smaller footswitch?

Or you could get a Mini Amp Gizmo and use whatever midi pedalboard or multi effects unit you like instead of the Mesa switch. I'm planning on a G-System with a Mini Amp Gizmo - which will actually shrink my pedalboard. Dave

Anyone Stopped fighting an amp with the Mark V?

Generally yes. I've got a bunch of amps, including a Mark IV, a Maverick, a Traynor plexi-clone and couple others. I bought the Mark V as a swiss-army type of amp - something I could play anything with. I play everything from lounge to metal, but mostly kidzy/indy/pop stuff. IMO, the...

Post Your Rig! Must Include a Mark V.

Here's my quick little gig-rig, just unzipped to double check before tonights gig. FWIW, Both Yamaha SGs are '77s, with the burst one recently refin'd, refretted and plek'd. Upcoming mods to the rig - think about a G-System Limited... Dave

OFFICIAL MARK V TONE SETTINGS THREAD

I also have a Nova System in my Mark V combo loop. It's been a month, so it's probably too late - but goes. The trick for any setup like this is to find unity gain. You want to make sure that the volume level is the same whether the loop is off or on - which is where the term unity...

    Mark V vs. Mark IV

Really? My IV is brighter than my V. I'm starting to think that all I needed to like my IV's tone better was try some more tubes out. Oh well, I'm selling it anyway, whenever I get enough time to line up an auction. The V though - WOW do I dig this amp better than my IV. There's only...

I am discovering that there is some magic in Mark I mode

Yep. Play it with a tele and you're Keith Richards. Even though I play pretty bright humbuckers (Bill Lawrence L500) - I find I can only use Mark I mode for single note solos. It takes off even more than Extreme mode.

    Circuit diagram

Yep, I concur with your synopsis mejoshee. I had a lot of fun reading the schematics too, and comparing them to the Mk IV. It REALLY looks identical to the Mk IV when set in that mode, with the exception that the "gain" resistor network that replaces the gain post is set to 450/550ohms -...
