    how to find bad tubes

one way to find a bad tube is to tapp it with a wooden stick, amp on, out of stand by, remove the chord, a bad tube will go microphonic, so it will make a loud pop when its hit, with power tubes they need to be matched pairs, so replace both power tubes when they go bad the preamp tubes can be...

    V1 Bottle Rocket Opinions?

can not speak for the V1 Bottle Rocket, my Mesa V-Twin is a great pedal and I would recommend getting one if you can find it, its great with a clean amp, and does the Mark tones, the blues selection is really close to the marshalls tones,

    Mark IV footswitch problem

Calling mesa and asking them about this really seems the best course, they are extremely nice helpful people and have helped me understand what is going on with my Mark IV, I know the amp is extremely reliable, you did not say what year or how much road time it has. I would call them...

    V Twin Lineage Question

learn something new all the time, my V-twin which I think is 1990 or earlier has metal band with drawings solo to blues and clean gain adjust. never turned the pedal upside down, so I was suprised when I saw this the metal bar is held on with a couple of screws, there are some holes that might...

Looking for a Mark IV footswitch

I would just pay the $240 to mesa for a new foot switch, seems to be a fair price for what it is, and no telling what kind of condition a used one would be in. http://mesa.stores.yahoo.net/fcfu3.html

thinking about a V-Twin or a Bottle rocket...

love my Mesa V-twin, had it 20 years or so and its a very solid overdrive distortion pedal, really the only distortion pedal that I have found that I like, the V-Twin has Gain, Bass, Midrange, Treble, presence and master volume, the bottle rocket only has gain, bass, treble, and output, the...

Stereo pedals with My mesa boogie and Fender amp

Do it all the time, have a Mark IV and Fender HRDx, run the HRDx clean and Mark IV whatever, have several stereo pedals, the stereo pedals I will run the Mark clean channel, the pedals that have a wet dry channel, like my EHX memory man I run the Mark IV dry, and the fender wet, really sounds...

    V Twin with JC 120

have a V-twin and used it with my Roland keyboard amps, gets me a good solo channel sound from my Mark IV, The V-twin works well with clean amps, and if you EQ you can get close to the rectifier tone, or you might overdrive it more than I do and get there as well.
