Depending on the generation/revision, couldn't that of just cut your wattage in half instead of causing damage? Or is that only the duals that could do that?

If low end is a priority than the only answer is the 2x12 vert. I just picked one up to replace my 1x12 mini recto cab and I loved it so much I use it with my roadster combo instead of the speakers in the amp!

Huh, I guess he did. At any rate, yes there can and will be a massive volume disparity between clean and modern, especially at higher volumes. I find that for higher volume, using "pushed" and rolling the volume back on my guitar helps a lot with the issue.

It would help if you post your modes and setting of your channels, as well as which amp from the rectifier family you are using. I can say that the various modes will sound quieter or powder just by changing the mode alone. This behavior is the same on my mini rectifier and my roadster.

I believe that the mini rectifier fx loop send is controlled by the master volume of the amp. It's possible that the mark v:25 is the same way and they have different volume taper. I use my roadster more than my mini rec at home though.

Did you guys just replace V1 or do all the preamp tubes?

I have been kicking around the idea of a retune for my rectoverb 25 head. Doug at dougstubes.com really helped me out with my roadster which has the tung sol in V1. Are you planning on replacing any other tubes as well?

Id be interested to see the finished product. The pedal in that pic looks a little...rough.
